Unless you were lucky enough to be raised by “perfect” parents, you’ll probably have to shed your old skin to become successful.

I was raised by Ghanaian immigrant parents who pushed us to succeed academically however, they trained us to believe that:

👉“Money doesn’t grow on trees”

👉You must concern yourself with the opinions of others

👉The only way to become successful is to work a 9–5 job

As an adult, I’ve had to unlearn 80% of what I learned as a child. It’s been tough.

Really tough.

On the road to success, I would stay up all night in tears. Crying my eyes out, and waking up with bloodshot eyes.

I would use eyedrops to calm the redness, then switch on the camera to make my YouTube video for the day.

I eventually quit YouTube because I couldn’t pretend anymore.

I felt like a fake.

I was teaching people who to transition from a meat-based diet to a plant-based one, and behind the scenes, I was…
